Explore how to develop an effective IP strategy that supports commercialisation.
This session will provide an overview of intellectual property (IP) in healthcare innovation, focusing on key types of IP – patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets, as well as exploring how ownership works in NHS-driven projects involving academics, clinicians and industry.
The talk will also explore how to develop an effective IP strategy that supports commercialisation, maximises the value of new technologies and encourages successful partnerships. Common IP pitfalls in healthcare innovation will be highlighted, with practical tips on how to avoid them. By the end, participants will gain a solid understanding of how to manage IP and protect innovations emerging from the NHS.
