Campus Run gets a new PB!
Campus Run sees over 1000 entrants, breaking last year’s record
The second CBC 10k, 5k and Fun Run saw 1009 entrants across the three race categories, including hundreds of children getting active and celebrating our community.
The event, sponsored by Prologis, raised over £18,000 for The Royal Papworth Charity and British Heart Foundation, as people of all ages put on their trainers (and in some cases costumes) an overcast day which made for perfect running conditions.
Entry was free for all under-17s and subsidised for adults, with many people trying our running for the first time. One participant said:
“My little one is five and she really likes to run so we’re doing the Fun Run – it’s her first time, and my first time, so we got off the couch this morning to take part!”
Nick Kirby, Managing Director of Cambridge Biomedical Campus Limited, said: “It has been such an inspiring day, we’ve been blown away by how many people have come together to get active and have fun.
“We wanted to make sure that cost wasn’t a barrier for children across our community to take part, which is why we made it free for under-17s. We want people to know that the Campus isn’t just a place people come to work or when they are unwell, it’s part of the local community.”

An apology
We understand that some participants did not get any photos from the run. This is because the photographer fell and was injured, leaving a period of time before a replacement was able to take over where no photos were taken.
